It has been quite a hot minute since I sat down to write a favourites post. Which is why this shall be favourites from the last 3 months. So brew a cup of tea and settle in for this one because there are a lot of things included this go around. I'm going to keep the same flowing format I've been using for favourites this year because I like it a lot better than the list format I've been doing for the last 3 years.
Anyway as always we can start in the beauty world. So in April, I ordered quite a few things from elf. They were having a 50% off sale and I got $50 worth of products for $25. Well worth it. Anyway, my favourites from that order are the Rose Gold Nude Palette, the Mad for Matte Jewel Pop palette and the Mad for Matte Holy Smokes.
I love the two matte palettes! They make great base colours and also create beautiful all-matte looks on their own! I am here the all brights matte palette! Jewel Pop is the palette I've been hunting for it all my life! I also really love the blue and the grey in the Holy Smokes! The Rose Gold palette has some really pretty shades as well. Many beautiful lid shades.
In that order, I also got the elf Cream Eyeliner. I LOVE IT! It's my first try with cream liner and I obsessed with it! It's really easy to apply with my baby angled brush, it has great pigment and goes on really well! And it doesn't smudge once it dries. It's definitely my new go-to liner.
In March and April, I also made some ColourPop orders. One of my top faves from these orders was the Lux Lipstick in Hello Stranger. A semi-matte smooth and creamy lipstick. The pigment is great and the colour Hello Stranger is to die for! Plus it comes in the cutest rose gold packaging!
I also got 4 of the ColourPop Pressed Powder pan shadows and a palette to put them in. I got the shades Going Steady, Facet, Cloud Nine, and Board Shorts. I think they make a beauty palette together! I actually wore these shades in a look for a wedding I went to in May. I am in love with them! The pigment is amazing and the wear time is wonderful!
I've also fallen in love with the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows. The shade Paradox is my favourite! It is such a beautiful berry! Apparently, I can't read product descriptions because when I got these shadows and swatched them I was surprised to fix that they are cream. I was actually really excited. I really love the formula and the colour is amazing! I also have shades, Beverly and Crenshaw.
My liquid lip collection is growing! I've added 4 more to the mix! I have fallen for the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Formula! The wear time is f**king phenomenal. I wore it the same wedding I mentioned before. I put my lip on at like 1:30. When I took my makeup off at 10:30 my lips looked practically untouched! The shade Tulle is my favourite. I bought it just for the wedding. I also have the shades Moondancer, which is part of the ColourPop limited edition My Little Pony collab, Snow Fleek, and Avenue.
I finally joined the land of the bakers and I've never going back! I backed my under eyes for the wedding and it was the first time ever that I didn't get shine reflected back in my glasses. And when we got home from the wedding parts of my face were tacky and shiny but my under eyes were still velvet-smooth as if I had just done them. I'm going to bake all of my face from now on! I use the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Powder and I love it!
I also started using the new Maybelline Super Stay Foundation. I really like the formula and the coverage is amazing. And massive plus it has a pump! There are like no drugstore foundations here in the US that have a pump! It's a major win!
I also just started using Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer. I honestly just got this concealer because it was the only concealer lighter than my foundation and I needed a concealer that would highlight my under eyes to make them brighter. I didn't expect much since it says right on the tube, lightweight medium coverage, but it builds really well and builds to a full coverage concealer without getting thick, cakey or heavy. It's quite possibly my new favourite concealer. It is defiantly my go-to right now!
I love the spring months because it's when all the TV shows from the previous fall are added to Netflix and Hulu and other platforms. I'm finally able to catch up on all my favourites. I have absolutely loved Riverdale season 2, Supernatural season 13 and iZombie season 4. I actually restarted Riverdale and iZombie from the beginning after finishing the new seasons.
I also loved A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2 from Netflix when it came out in April. I was a bit on the fence after season one but after S2 I love the show and I'm dying for season 3!
Keeping in the entertainment field I finally finished Lord of the Rings! Every time I had time to watch a movie and really pay attention it would be 9 pm already and since the LOTR films are like 3 hours long I never really had the time. But I made a point to finish them and GOD I loved them so much! The last 2 are even better than the first! I highly recommend all of them!!
A few months ago I desperately wanted to re-read Harry Potter but I just don't have time so I finally caved to Audible. I signed up thru my Amazon account and got 2 free books. Now I don't know if it is because it's Harry Potter or if it's Jim Dale's narration skills but I loved them! I really want to get all the Harry Potter Audiobooks and Game of Thrones and LOTR all the books! I want ALL THE BOOKS!
