The details on the Too Faced website says this mascara has a "film-forming Polymer for smudge-proof, all-day wear" and contains "Acacia Senegal Tree Extract to nourish, thicken and lock curl in place" and "unique peptides for the deepest, intense black possible."

Too Faced also says that in a consumer study "100% saw longer lashes, 100% saw dramatic volume, and 93% saw base-to-tip curl." And Too Faced says in a clinical study this mascara gave "1,944% more volume."

So Too Faced promises this mascara will make lashes appear longer, thicker, fuller and have more volume. With a base-to-tip locked in a curl that will wear all day without smudging. And that overtime use of this mascara could help lashes grow longer and thicker.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is available for $23 at Ulta, Sephora and the Too Faced website. It is also available for £19 at Selfridges if you are from the UK.

Here is my experience with the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

For a long time, I didn't really like mascara. I would do anything to not wear mascara. I'd try to use eyeliner to make my lashes darker and look like mascara. I'd just not wear anything on my eyes so I didn't have to wear mascara. And for a short time when I was about 14ish, I would wear eyeshadow and eyeliner without mascara. I know that one is terrible.

I got this mascara from Ulta as a platinum member gift and it changed my view on mascara forever.

I think the biggest reason I never like mascara is that my lashes are very long and with mascara in them, they always hit my glasses. I would curl them but it never helped. The drugstore mascara I was using never held a curl and it made your lashes really hard.

I also hated how every mascara I tried made my lashes stick together and "spider out." My lashes would end up all clumped together.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is great! It doesn't clump or make my lashes go "spidery." It holds a curl without making my lashes stiff and the wand separates my lashes well.

Here is a close up of the signature wand.

The wand has a special hourglass shape to help separate lashes, give a base-to-tip coverage and help curl the lashes. I think it does its job. I curl my lashes before and after applying mascara and I think this wand helps the curl stay put.

I love the way it looks on my lashes! It holds a curl and is nice and black! Here are some photos of the mascara on my lashes. The flash is on and these are from a few different times I wore this mascara.

LASH SWATCHES (warning close up photos of my eyes):

As for the claims about smudging, I haven't really had a problem but if are someone who touches your eyes a lot you may want to go for the water-proof version. I would say that this mascara is smudge resistant, not smudge-proof.

Overall I really love this mascara!

Was it worth the hype? I've heard a lot about this mascara and it has held to it hype very well. I really love it! It's my current go-to mascara!

Was it worth the price? I have the mini which is about half the size of the full and it is lasting me forever! I love this mascara and I think it is a really great product! I think the full size is worth the $23. But since mascara can go bad quickly I would recommend getting the $12 travel size if you can. I have it and it lasts forever!

This mascara holds a curl, and makes lashes look great! I love this mascara!

That's it for this review. Thanks so much for giving it a read! I hope you enjoyed it! Have you tried the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara? What did you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
